The Weekend of the 12th

This past weekend I traveled home to dallas to attend a friends wedding. The ceremony was wonderful, and it was all around a great time. I tried to shoot the local parks as much as i could due to the fact its still fall in Dallas! I spent every morning shooting at arbor hills nature preserve in Plano. It was great to get out and see the leaves still changing unlike in lubbock where everything is brown, and the cotton harvest is winding down. I enjoyed the opportunity go home and to spend time with my best friends. I spent all day friday wandering the creeks of arbor hills with Beachner. Seeing as how I am trying to work my way into taking pictures of people, Beach got stuck with being my model in a few pictures. We spent a few hours aimlessly poking around the preserve while enjoying the fine fall weather, and catching up.
After walking a few miles down the creek we decided to get on some solid land and explore the closed mountain biking trail. after slipping around in the mud for a few minutes we both heard an owl off in the distance. Being that we are both amateur trackers, we decided to stray away from our busy schedule and follow the calls. Due to Beachner's innate ability to call in birds of all species, we followed to trails hoping to get a glimpse of the Oh so wise owl. We tracked the bird for about twenty minutes until we ran into the barbed wire fence marking the end of the property line. Being two men who in no way enjoy breaking the law we were forced to return to the creek, but not with out snapping a picture of a potential owl hang out.

After our failed attempt we gave up decided to cut our losses and head back to the car. After all it had
been a couple of hours, and the rehearsal dinner was closer than I thought. Luckily I made it to the dinner right at time and got to enjoy an amazing meal with the company of old friends.

The next morning I woke up to go shoot at one of my favorite spots near home, Lake Lewisville Environmental Learning Area(LLELA). Upon arrival I was asked if I was attending the Dallas Flyfishermen seminar. Being the honest man I am, I replied "Yes, I am the photographer for the event." After talking to the President of the organization I felt that I was more than welcome to shoot the event for the organization. I Figured this would be an easy opportunity to take some pics of people.
After the event I returned to my plans and hiked around the preserve for a while. A cold front had moved in the night before, and there was not many creatures out and about. It still felt good to walk around the trails and get a little mud under my feet. On the way out of the woods a came across this little guy, who posed for a few minutes while I could get a few shots of him.

The rest of my weekend was filled with the celebrations of a great wedding. Congratulations to Joey and KD Kramer. Thank you for reading my first post on my new blog. Please post comments or complaints, being that this is my first blog I really have no idea what to improve on. Any comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading, hopefully I will have a new adventure posted soon. (Special Tanks to Beach for being my model for the day)

Welcome to my blog!

I decided to create a site on which i can post full size pictures for my friends to view. I am completely new the the whole blog concept, so cut me some slack at first. I am not sure how regularly I will be posting, but it should be at least once a week. Thank you for taking to the time to view my photos and let me know if you have any questions, or want to buy any prints.
